Tall? A "curse"? Is this the best that NY Times could come up with? I'm not too tall, so I can't speak from the heart, but I assure you that this isn't going anywhere. What would you even call this... hotels being 'Height Conscience'? This isn't an emerging trends, it is part of history. There won't be any breakthroughs here, it is not like they have been waiting for technology to be developed to make longer beds, the way they have to wait for technology in order to 'Go Green' or really tech out a room with fingerprint recognition. The article says that 5% of male travelers from ages 20-74 are 6'2 or more....OK, and? Kimpton has "Tall Rooms" with beds that are 96 inches, which are also for sale for $2,595...OK, and? I've checked in a lot of guests, never once been asked for a 'tall bed', not even when the WWE superstar, The Great Kali, who is 7 feet 3 inches stayed with us. Is it worth hotels getting new beds, adjusting door frames, and shower heads to attract less then 3% of travelers? Probably not.
